This article attempts to examine the use of morphological deviation as a style foregrounding in Timothy Wangusa’s poetry collection -Africa’s New Brood. According Geoffrey Leech, “poetic language may violate or deviate from generally observed rules many ways, some obvious, subtle. Both means and motive for are worth careful study” (Leech, 1969, p. 5) It is this licentious that brings “…about an alienation poetic everyday language” (Leech 19). With deviation, focus will be put on morphemes words being lowest meaningful unit(s) syntactic organisation. Morphemes building blocks words.
